Unemployed GRADUATES in Science, Engineering and Technology ONLY

Required to volunteer in the DST’S National Youth Service Programme


Volunteers will be based at the SA Mathematics Foundation in Pretoria

One position for persons aged 18-35 is available.

This is a 12 month contract position


Stipends paid to volunteers per month are as follows:

  • National Diploma (R4 500),

  • Bachelor’s Degree/B.Tech (R5 000),

  • Honours (R5 500),

  • Master’s (R6 500),

  • PhD (R7 700).


The volunteers will be required to:

  • Assist with project administration.

  • Collect data and any information relevant to projects.

  • Maintenance of data on database.



  • A Science Degree with preferably Mathematics and/or Statistics as majors

  • Good communication skills

  • Good organising skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task


All travel and relocation costs will be for the candidates’ own expenses.
